Pasifika Election Priorities Released!

A milestone for Pasifika communities in Victoria: we have submitted One Moana’s first election priorities.

Through the partnership between the United Pasifika Council of Victoria (UPCOV) and Village Response Collective (VRC), we are asking every party contesting the 2026 Victorian election to make three commitments:

• COMMIT: Recognise and partner with One Moana as Victoria’s community-owned statewide Pasifika Engagement Framework.
• INVEST: Commit $3 million over three years to establish and embed the framework, with additional funding for community-led implementation.
• CONNECT: Establish an enduring cross-government relationship that connects policy and investment to Pasifika priorities, cultural knowledge and evidence.

For VRC, this milestone reflects years of work connecting community experience with policy. It means translating what our families, young people and community organisations know into commitments that government can act on.

Our communities already contribute knowledge, leadership and support across Victoria. One Moana provides a way to sustain that work, retain our evidence and shape the decisions affecting our futures.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to getting us here. Thank you UPCOV fof holding Va with elected officials over the years and representing Pasifika in Victoria.

Our advocacy is non-partisan. We invite all parties to meet with us and provide a written response to these priorities.

Read and share the priorities, and ask your local candidates where they stand:
